Adeleke Family Shuns Coroner Sitting

Barely a week after the setting of a Coroner inquest by Governor Rauf Aregbesola to probe the cause of death of the first civilian governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the panel today started its sittings.
The coroner sitting which lasted for not more than 30 minutes at the Osun State High court Complex, Osogbo, has all the members present.
But Adeleke’s siblings of the deceased, Dr Deji Adeleke nd Mrs Modupe-Adeleke Sanni were absent.
The Adeleke family had rejected the coroner inquest headed by a Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara, describing it as a predetermined exercise.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the Adeleke’s siblings refused to be served with the summon of the coroner for appearance on Monday.
However, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye; Executive Director of Biket Hospital, Dr. Adebisi Adenle, Executive Secretary, Ede South Local Government, Mr. Johnson Ojo, were present at the sitting.
Briefing audience at the sitting, Magistrate Ayilara said the panel invited the family of the deceased but they did not turn up.
He stated that panel would not be able to take evidence because of logistic reasons and adjourned the case till May 15th to take the evidence.
The panel adjourned its next sitting till Monday.
There has been controversy on the Adeleke’s death as there is insinuation that the late senator’s death was not natural.
