Nasarawa Boils, 3 Die, Houses, Vehicles, Motorcycles Burnt In Morning Raid

No fewer than three persons were reportedly killed as eight houses, six vehicles an seven motorcycles burnt in the early morning attack on Katapha village: in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.

It was gathered that the Thursday morning attack also left scores injured and few others missing.

Eyewitness account said the attackers invaded the village when the villagers were preparing for the the day’s business shooting in all directions leaving women and children samparing for safety.

The eyewitness said three persons eight hours, six vehicles and seven motorcycles were set ablazed by the attackers leaving some others injured during the attack.

In the meantime, security personnel have been deployed to the area to prevent further attacks, just as the council chairman of Toto local government Area calls for calm when he led council members on sympathy visit to the community, Friday.

Addressing the community Friday during the visit, the Toto council chairman, Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, expressed regret that despite despite his achievements in area of security and the state government peace initiative some disgruntled individuals has chosen to disrupt the relative peace being enjoyed in the area. 

Hon Tashas informed the people that governor Abdullahi Sule was  pained by the development and would take a decisive actions on the matter.

While escribed the attack as callous, inhuman Tashas assured that the attackers would not go unpunished, just as he called on the residents to remain calm and respect constituted authorities saying that security operatives are on ground to forestall further break down of law and order.

Village Head of Katakpa, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu  whose compound and all valuables were completely burnt down appreciated the chairman for the visit and appealed to the government to take measures to prevent future attack.

He informed the chairman that eight houses, six vehicles, seven motorcycles and three lives were lost in the attacked alleging that the attackers are of Bassa Kwomo extraction.
