Police Arrest Couple For Killing 45-year-old Man
Operatives of the Ogun State Police command, have arrested a couple, Mba and Florence Moses for allegedly killing one Mark Kalu.
The suspects were arrested on Saturday by operatives from Odeda divisional headquarters.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Abeokuta on Sunday.
According to Odutola, the suspects had engaged the deceased in a fight after an argument.
The PPRO said the incident occurred at Osiele market in Odeda local government area of the state.
Odutola said, the deceased died from injuries he sustained from the fight.
“The altercation took place in the market square between the late Mark Kalu and a couple, Mba Moses , aged 50 , and his wife, Florence Moses, aged 40 , leading to the death of Kalu.
“Efforts were initially made by the Babaloja (market head) of Osiele and the Igbo Community Leader to mediate and find a peaceful resolution.
“However, the suspects have now been taken into custody to facilitate a preliminary investigation into the incident,” she said.
Odutola explained that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Federal Medical Center in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta for autopsy.
