Former IRS Boss Dissociates Self From Malicious Post, Lauds Aregbesola Over Appointment
The former Acting Chairman of Osun Internal Revenue Service(IRS) Mr Dayo Oyebanji has dissociated himself over a post trending on various social media platforms, claiming that he was sacked, and replaced by an Ogun State indigene, Mr Bicci Alli.
Oyebanji, in a press statement made available to journalists on Thursday frowned at such an obscene and malicious statement, saying it was a calculated attempt by his foes to dent his image and create acrimony between him and Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who he described as his benefactor.
According to the statement, the post is not only malicious, it is a desperate and dangerous attempt to cause chaos in the state by enemies of the administration.
“ My attention has be drawn to a false, dangerous, and malicious post trending on social media with the caption” Aregbesola sacks Osun State Indigene as Chairman of IRS replace him with Ogun State born Bicci Alli.
“I wish to use this media to dissociate myself from such negative, false and
malicious broadcast.
I, Dayo Oyebanji, the former Acting Chairman of Osun IRS was not sacked,
rather, I resigned my appointment to pursue further studies towards the
realization of my dream.
“My decision to quit the job was a fallout of my age-long aspiration to become an authority in the area of revenue generation and management, which informed my PHD programme.
“To put the record straight, our amiable and likeable Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Governor of the State of Osun has given me the greatest opportunity to serve under his administration until I willingly quit to pursue further studies, the opportunity I will continue to appreciate forever.
Obviously, Ogbeni Aregbesola has been a good role model and political leader of sort, and I remain a stakeholder in our virtuous State and would be willing to assist in all ways to move our state forward,” the statement reads in part.
