Anambra Security Forces Gun Down Two Unknown Gunmen, Foils Attack At Okija

A combined team of security forces in Anambra State at about 3:00am today, Monday 19 June, 2023, gunmen at Okija inIhiala LGA

The gunmen according to residents hand launched attack on the Security forces but were vehemently resisted.

Two of the gunmen were gunned down during exchange of fire and two AK-47 riffles were recovered.

Our source said many of the gunmen now at large  sustained various degrees of injury and bullet wounds, while members of Anambra Security forces were unscathed.

Reacting to the development public relations officer of the Anambra Vigilante Nweke Nweke said the need for a sane and secured environment in Anambra State remains a top priority of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration. 

 Accordingly, him Security forces remain unrelenting in its resolve to protect the lives and property of Ndị Anambra, Travellers and all residents alike.

The spokesman of the Anambra State Police command  DSP Ikenga Tochukwu who confirmed the incident said , “Yes two gunmen were killed early this morning in Ihiala” .

According to him, the gunmen had wanted to attacked the vigilante  ,but   were repealed  and in the process two of them  were killed.
He said two AK 47 and other dangerous weapons were recoverd from them.
