2020 Youth Week: Baptist Youth President, Onajite Felicitates Youths

The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC,Pastor Onajite Enunuaye has felicitated with the youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, on the commencement of the 2020 Youth Week celebration.

In a life broadcast held today, Youth Week Sunday, Onajite urged the youths to renew their faith in Christ Jesus not minding the season we found ourselves.

He condemned in strong terms, the dastard act of rape that is rampant in the country today calling on the government to strengthen the judicial system to deal with the menace.

The youth President commended the government at all levels on their efforts at fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said:
“I congratulate all youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, on the celebration of the 2020 Youth Week. This year’s theme, The Living Faith (Hebrews 10:36-11:10) is quite apt as it reflects the mood of the season.

“The world is confused. Believers faith is shaken. The spirit is down. But the Lord is asking for only one thing – the Living Faith. It is only by faith that we can conquer the challenges currently facing the world. Let your faith be a Living Faith – Faith that speaks after you.

“We are deeply concerned by the spate of rape and eventual killing of the victims in the country. This is not only ungodly but criminal. We condemn this criminal act in strongest terms and urge the government at all levels to strengthen relevant laws and ensure stiffer punishment for rapists.

“COVID-19 is ravaging the world and has affected every strata of our lives. Today, more than 12,000 people in have been affected by the disease with about 12,000 cases. Over 8,000 active cases and little above 4,000 treated and discharged. The fatalities figure stands at above 340. Coronavirus is real!

“We commend the government at all levels for their efforts at combating the spread of the pandemic. We urge all Nigerians to adhere to the guidelines been provided by the government and other relevant agencies.”

The programme is an annual event where youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention are given the opportunity to lead their various local Churches for the period.
