Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has warned that the people of the state should not allow those he described as ‘political infidels’ to destroy the legacy of good, effective and progressive governance that was established in the state since 2010.

The warning was given in Ile Ife Monday during an address to APC supporters, where the governor started his tour of Federal Constituencies in the state.

According to the governor, this group of politicians the Yoruba people refer to as ‘Demo’ are notorious for indiscipline and recklessness. ‘There is no where these people are in charge of governance that peace reigns, the governor asserted.

In a veiled reference to the feuding PDP in the state, the.governor said that, ‘a group as fractious and in disarray as our main opponent stands no chance of winning any competition against us’.

The governor decried the fixation of the PDP to snatch power in the state without any plan whatsoever to make life better for the people and improve their standard of living.

Aregbesola therefore urged the people of Osun to support the candidate that the party will present for the governorship election in September, because ‘he will be the best person to preserve and enhance the wonderful legacy we are leaving behind’.

According to him, ‘the APC government has opened the eyes of the people, as well as those of the visionless political adventurers assembled in the opposition to what good governance is all about.

‘Look around you in Ife South, Ife Central, Ife North and Ife East and see for yourselves the level and quality of development we have brought about all over Ife zone for instance; there has been nothing like it by anyone else’, the governor enthused.

Addressing the question of debts, the governor said ‘you cannot divorce debt from development in any country in the world. But these ignorant opposition politicians in Osun do not know it or they are outrightly mischievous.
‘Most developed countries in the world borrowed money to bring first class development to their people and environment. Indeed, America, the most powerful and developed country in the world is owing over 21 trillion dollars today. How do you quantify that in naira, he asked.

‘Osun’s debts are manageable’, the governor declared, ‘and we have used the monies borrowed to develop the state, unlike those who had left the state indebted without anything on ground to show for it’, Ogbeni added.

In conclusion, Ogbeni Aregbesola challenged every politician and other individuals who can, to reveal his bank account anywhere in Nigeria and around the.world.

‘I am the only governor in Nigeria without a bank account any.where in the world. I challenge whoever has the knowledge of one to publish it!!’ the governor declared with incredible confidence.
