Ramadan: A Holy Visitor By Alli Ibrahim

It is a visitor of specified numbers. It spends either thirty or twenty nine days. A guest accompany with favours, miracles and blessings. The rewards for the hosts (those who accommodate the visitor) are extremely unending. The caller comes only once in a year. O my brothers and sisters, are you ready to lodge the visitor and be rewarded eternally? O Ramadan, welcome to my abode, a Holy visitor.

Blessing and specialty are exclusive assets of Allah bestow on whoever he wishes. The bestowment is extended to non living objects with Ramadan leading in the row.  The uniqueness is rare but the Creator, Allah knows best the reason(s) why it is such.

The approbation of the month is not unconnected with the natural dictates of Allah. It is this natural purest that the caller (Ramadan) is characterized with many miracles most explainable by the creator. Most significant is the fasting during the month, the reward of which is exclusively reserved by Allah. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is not only necessary but also obligatory as prescribed by Allah in the Holy Quran. Many have succeeded here on earth and in the hereafter by optimizing the acute benefits embedded in Ramadan.

Ramadan houses copious eternal favours. Quran with its is life changing commands, dictates and template of Allah was revealed to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) during this month.

Allah made compulsory fasting on the faithful believers as He has done to those before them, due to the benefits inherent in obeying the command.

It was reported by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that: “When Ramadan arrives, the gates of the heavens would be opened, the gate of hell would be locked and the accursed Shaytan would be chained. In another narration; when Ramadan comes, the gate of mercy (of Allah) would be open”
Q 2:183

Allah the Most High says:
“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn self-restraint, the fasting days are for a fixed number of days but if any of you is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed number (should be made up) from days later, for those who cannot do it (due to hardship), is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more, his own free wills, it is better for him. And it is better for you that you fast, if you only knew. The month of Ramadan in which the Qur`an was sent, as a guide to mankind.

The believers have been admonished to cultivate good virtues during this period such as dedication to Solaat, sadaqat and refraining from idle talk.

Muslims are expected to be of good character and be caution of disbelief, abusing the religion, and evil interaction with people, because fasting requests orientation to the hearts.

It is of great loss for a fasting person to be indulging in vain talk, even if it is for fun, lest you waste your fast.

It is reported in an authentic Hadith that:

“When any of you fasts, let him not use foul language on such days and should not make unnecessary noise; if someone abuses him, let him (the fasting Muslim) say; I am fasting! I am fasting.

The caller is here, it surfaces once in a year. It is an unusual lodger.  He who sincerely accommodates the caller is the most blessed. The pass sins will be forgiven for those who do as promised by Allah. O my brethren in Islam, the time to reflect is here. Are you prepared to pay the price and host the visitor?
