The Secretary to the Government of the State of Osun and one at the frontline aspirants among those jostling to succeed incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola on the platform of the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti has charged Muslims in the state and Nigeria in general on the need to remain steadfast even after the Ramadan period.

This was contained in a goodwill message issued and signed on his behalf by the Director of Media and Publicity of Moshood Adeoti Campaign Organization (MACO), Mr. Kayode Agbaje while congratulating Muslims on the Eid-el-fitri.

According to Alhaji Adeoti, the end of the Ramadan should not signal an end to piety and godliness by any good and practising Muslim.

“As a good and practising Muslim, the end of Ramadan should not be seen as an end to all forms of piety and godliness displayed by all believers of God while the spiritual exercise lasted.

“It should rather charge and further embolden us to continue in the spirit and reflect same in our daily relationship with our fellow men,” he further charged.

The prominent politician in the state also admonished all Nigerians, especially indigenes and residents of the State of Osun to continue to pray for the state for a peaceful gubernatorial election scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold later in the year.

“If there is any time our dear state, Osun deserves our collective prayers for peace and tranquillity to reign, the time is now, as the state journeys to pick Governor Aregbesola’s successor,” Alhaji Adeoti noted further.

He then charged all governorship aspirants, irrespective of their party leanings, not to see the forthcoming governorship election as a do-or-die affair.

He reminded them that the state is bigger than the ambition of any individual and that whoever aspires to lead the state must put the interest of the masses on the front burner.

The governorship hopeful also admonished all residents of the state who are yet to secure their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) to take advantage of the ongoing voter’s registration by INEC by visiting the nearest INEC office in their respective council areas.
