FEDPOFFA 2018: Osundefender Freelancer, Toba Declares Interest To Clinch Mass Comm Presidential Seat

A student of Federal Polytechnic Offa(FEDPOFFA), Kwara State, Toba Adedeji has declared his intention to be the president of the National Association of Mass Communication Student.

Toba who is a freelancer for Osundefender newspaper on Friday in Osogbo declared his intention to become the president after the special jum’at service to herald the activities, marking the 2018 NUJ Osun Council Press Week.

Toba who expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious in the coming department presidential election for 2018/2019 session said he has prerequisite knowledge to govern the department.

He said, “I have what it takes to govern the department. The students of Mass Communication needed some who will be of good image to the department beyond any selfish interest.

“The post of the president is not a tea party but should be an avenue to serve the department and enhance the good work of the Head of Department, Dr. David Oloyede. The HOD(Dr. Oloyede) is a professional in the field of Mass Communication in which the level of exposure has brought him to the lime light especially in the area of advertising and public relation .

“To large extent, I have what it takes to rule the department and I want to promote egalitarian spirit in among the students in a way that everyone will have equal social rights and opportunities; provide international relationship between the students and strata that might be of help in annexing their journalism and other area of gifting; provide necessary information that will be of help to students in winning fellowship grant both within the country and outside the country and foster relationship with other schools in bringing journalism practice among young generation to the lime light.

“As you know that mass Communication unfold in four manners; public relation, journalism, advertising and politics, I am ready to promote the talents and gifts of students in Mass Communication.”

Thus, Toba admonished his fellow students to support the vision he is having for the department and promise to make things proper.
