RAI: Moving Towards A Workable Solution

Published

It is a common understanding that the only option out from a recurring problem is adopting a workable solution. That is why many find profound wisdom in the counsel that repeating the same thing repeatedly would never give a different outcome.

Iwo is an ancient city, with rich tradition and political history. But unlike its contemporaries, Iwo continue to struggle to match what aptly described its pre-Independence all through Second Republic political dominance and considerations. This, was however, compounded with uninspiring representations over the years.

Like a mirror, the quality of our choices for House of Assembly over the years reflect the development and economic imbalance that derides our progress as people. Even though election hold every four years, it has made little impact to the wellbeing of the people and have aggravated their frustrations, which has increased their search for redemption.

As such, the best approach to redemption is to focus their search to a choice, whose understanding and capacity to represent and advocate the need of the people is never in doubt. A choice that will represent the interest of Iwo Constituency and not that of few– a recurring decimal that is largely responsible for the current abyss.

Past disappointments can be remedied, if the people of the Iwo can maximise the opportunity next year’s general election presented them, by using their thumbs to elect someone who is genuinely interested in the restoration and development of the ancient town as the House of Assembly choice.

With the conclusion of primaries or otherwise of political parties, one of those candidates, Hon. Rufai Adeniyi Ismail (RAI) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is without doubt the most appropriate choice to represent Iwo at the Osun State House of Assembly from next year when his antecedent is put into perspective.

Aside his sterling capability, resourcefulness and leadership zeal, Hon. Rufai strong love and posture for Iwo emancipation and development is a great asset in giving deserved voice and agitate for the right of the ancient town.

From his private endeavours to philanthropy, Hon. Rufai have shown tremendous responsibility– a core value that is lacking in our governance system. As someone who have strong feelings for humanity, Hon. Rufai have always shown uncommon attentions to alleviating the plights of the people without expectation of any sort. This formed his tradition– an attitude that revealed his innermost love and passion to remedy the people of Iwo from the plague of poverty that has ravaged them over the years. Whenever he has the chance, providing succour for people who are distressed and in dire needs have always been his best calling. Though, a silent giver, but the rave of Hon. Rufai philanthropic gestures resonate louder that it will be too hard, if not impossible, to suppress. His emphasis has always been his people– a decisive factor which motivated him to obey the call to serve as Iwo at the House of Assembly.

The truth, which the people must come to term with in their choice for House of Assembly in 2019, is that delivering desirable governance goes beyond pettiness and that calls for true commitment. This is not the time to be fixated with partisan consideration but to tow the line of patriotism for positive turnaround of Iwo as Hon. Rufai had understudied most of the challenges of the people and understands their expectations.

Interestingly, it was his concern for the people of Iwo that spurred his interest in the House of Assembly seat, and as such, the people must embrace this paradigm shift. They need to understand that the choice of who represents and stand as their voice at the House of Assembly bears so much on their respective endeavours and they should maximize their chances of entrusting their mandate to Hon. Rufai, to aid his drive to setting Iwo on the path of greatness.
