BOA Commends President Buhari Over June 12
A Governorship aspirant in the coming gubernatorial election in Osun State, Benedict Olugboyega-Alabi on Thursday commended President Mohammedu Buhari for declaring June 12 as Democracy day.
Alabi however, congratulated entire people of Nigeria and Osun State in particular on this year democracy day, saying President Buhari decision shows the real progressive trait in him.
He made this known in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.
The APC chieftain noted that, he was not convinced that May 29 was the real Democracy Day, but June 12, 1993, when the nation witnessed the most credible election in the history of Nigeria.
He said “said our democracy had come to stay, adding that its worst form is better than the best other forms of government”
Alabi said that some corrupt individuals and unscrupulous politicians that are conniving with the top military brass should be cautious, saying “the world has moved beyond military rule ”
He however, charged the politicians to show compassions to the poor and strive to bail out people in need as a mark of responsible leadership.
He tasked the people to engage the political class with issue of general interests, saying this would put them on their toes.
