A frontline aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State of Osun, Dr. Ismail Abiodun Saka-Layonu SAN has assured leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state that the popular ‘Osun West Agenda’ won’t disintegrate the ruling party.

Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN gave the assurance in Osogbo, during his consultative tour to Osogbo local government where he was warmly received by leaders, chieftains and members of the party.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria while speaking reaffirmed his commitment to the notion that Osun West Senatorial District should be supported to produce the next governor in the State. He said he has been consistent in his gentle appeal to other senatorial zones to support the West in its request and appeal, adding that no zone can do it or go it alone.

Saka-Layonu however pointed out that such a request or appeal to the others is not a move to destroy or disintegrate the progressives, adding that it takes the support of other senatorial zones of the Party to actualize it.

The Ede born politician stressed that the ‘Osun West Agenda’ is a step in giving all parts of the state a sense of belonging, fairness and justice, a belief in equal contributions and participation. He further noted that it will go a long way in sealing the party’s victory in the September 22 election.

In his response, the deputy leader of the Party’s Elders Forum in Osogbo, Chief Kayode Esuleke expressed his full understanding of the ‘Osun West Agenda’, stating that it is a worthy clamour which needs to be recognized and considered especially when being presented articulately, coherently, gently, decently and non forcefully by Saka-Layonu, without any hidden agenda capable of destroying our cherished Party.

Chief Esuleke who led other party leaders to receive Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN in the absence of the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Wale Azeez, who was unavoidably absent prayed for the aspirant in the traditional way after commending him for his pleasant presentation.

The APC aspirant who later moved to Egbedore and Ejigbo Local Government areas of the State maintained that ethics, rules and principles of the Party must be followed and well maintained because a government or administration emanates from a successful political party.

He thereby urged all party leaders, chieftains and members to remain committed to the ideals of the Party, especially in working hard to seal its victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial poll.
