Ooni Appoints New Obalufe
Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) on Thursday March 10, 2016 appointed Comrade Idowu Olaniyi Adediwura as the new Obaalufe of Ile-Ife.
Adediwura who hailed from Ajagbusi Royal House of Orunto in Ile-Ife replaced the late Oba Folorunso Omisakin who died in October 2015.
Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Comrade Moses Olafare, in a release which was made available to CityMirrorNews said the appointment was in line with the customs and traditions of Ile-Ife after consultation with the government, kingmakers other relevant stakeholders.
Adediwura was born in 1967 to the family of Pa Afred Tijuara and Mrs Tayelolu Mariani Adediwura.
The Obalufe designate who is expected to be the Ooni’s deputy is a trade unionist and labour leader in the maritime sector and a member of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.
He is currently the unit Chairman, Tin Can Island Container Terminal, a position he has been holding since 1992.
