No Compromise Of Quality Assurance In PHC Renovation- O’Leke

As part of the resolve of the administration of Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola to promote and sustain the well being of the people of Osun state, the 250 completed primary Health Centres spread across all the wards in the state have been done to specification without compromising standards.

This assertion was given by the chairman of the committee set up for the Implementation and Monitoring of the renovation of the 332 Primary Health centres spread across all wards, Hon. Leke Ogunsola when he led members of the committee to the Bureau of Social Services.

While explaining that the choice of the selected primary Health Centres were based on an Independent report submitted by National Agency for Primary Health Care on focal centres, Hon. Ogunsola explained that his committee worked round the clock to ensure that each of the cenntres are renovated/reconstructed to comply with the laid down quality standard as specified in the drawings, Bills Of Quantitiess and others.

Hon. Ogunsola was accompanied by Arch. Lekan Usman, Dr. Abiodun Boladale and Mr. Samson Owoyokun.

The Chairman told BOSS Monitoring and Surveillance Team that 250 out the 300 awarded primary Health Centres have been completed while others have reached advance stages of completion.

He said the bore Hole facility with fetching bays for residents was awarded for each of the centres so as to provide access to safe drinking water and prevent water borne diseases that could emanate from flowing water like streams, rivers and so on.

The committee noted that apart from physical structures, medical equipment which could be found only in secondary health centres in the other states are now available in all the centres.

According to him, Osun State can now boast of a functional health centres in each of the 332 wards in the state. He explained that 60% of the fund were given to local contractors who handled the projects as mobilization, with 35% payment on completion as well as 5% retention fee to be paid after 6 months of project completion.

The Bureau of Social Services BOSS, commended members of the committee for their commitment and dedication and requested the committee to furnish BOSS with Bills of Quantity, drawings and other relevant documents on the PHCs that are on-going saying such will afford the bureau, the opportunity to scrutinise the project for transparency and accountability purpose.

In his remark, the Director-General of Bureau of Social Services (BOSS), Mr. Richard Tinubu lauded the visionary leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for scouting for men of integrity and credibility for the all important job.

Mr. Tinubu commended the implementation committee for ensuring that each of the PHCs has incinerators for medical waste disposal.

The Director-General of BOSS charged the committee members not to be dettered and continue to give their best in the service of Osun state saying history will not forget them.
