Osun Council Boss Rehabilitates Roads, Pledges More Dividends

The leadership of the Ayedire Local Government in the State of Osun under the watch of the Executive Chairman of the council, Otunba Adeboye Mukaila Oladejo, has rehabilitated about 20 rural roads within the towns and villages in the area.

Otunba Oladejo equally assured his constituents of more dividends of democracy, noting that the road project is just a tip of the iceberg.

He said the road projects are necessary to facilitate easy conveyance of farm products to market by farmers and boost the economic strength of the local government in food security. Oladejo related the massive road rehabilitation of roads in Ayedire local government to its comparative advantage in agricultural engagement than some others in the state, disclosing parliamentarians under his watch have concluded arrangements for farmers` incentives to proliferate our agricultural production strength.

Some of the roads rehabilitated were -Kuta-Ede road terminating at Odo Osun in Kuta, Luther King`s Colleges to sawmill in Ileogbo,, C.A.C No. 3 to Hon. Kolatech houise road in Ileogbo. Other roads rehabilitated in Ileogbo were- Lakuye road, Alapo to Oluponna road, Alapo to Eku Abioye, Alagric road, bulldozing of Egan Balogun to link Egan OOsa and few others.

Otunba Mukaila thanked Ayedire people for their leniency since the inception of his tenure, promising to deliver juicy dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.

According to him “The rural roads rehabilitation in major towns and villages in Ayedire Local Government is to ensure farm products are easily transported to market and accessible to wholesalers,retailers and consumers. With our step, farmers could be encouraged and secured to plant more and convey easily. When roads are bad, it is mostly to the disadvantage of enduring farmers. So, we don’t want such in Ayedire. Majority of us are commercial farmers having difficulty in transporting goods. The snag is now a past gory” said Hon. Oladejo.

“The people most especially farmers in Ayedire should see the rehabilitation as a tip of the iceberg. I’m a qualified administrator and manager of resources. As the rainy season is approaching, we are planning to provide incentive to farmers on procurement of farms tools, equipment, hybrid seeds, herbicides and fertilizers to promote their interest and multiply earnings. We will walk with Osun State Agricultural Development Program (OSSADEP) and N-Agro Npower as extension agents for farmers. The road will aids accessibility and make farm site inspection easily achievable.

” Aside road, we will empower and engage our teaming youth in various vocational trainings with incentives. Engaging them is not enough, incentives will be provided as encouragement. We’ve the template and every of our programs are in phases. We are here to give the best of representation and ensure the standard of living is improved’ Hon. Oladejo.

Speaking, one of the commercial farmers, Mr. Sikiru Adio eulogized the council boss and his cabinet members for responding to their plight, noting that the road rehabilitation is a relief and encouragement to his farming business. He said commercial drivers are avoiding his farm route because of it moribund state that has invited monumental damage to his farm goods. He appreciated the parliamentarians and charged them to do more to assist farmers.

The local council authority further appeal to the electorates to support his party (APC) in the Saturday’s general election for continuous access to dividend of democracy.
