7th Osun Assembly: AKOL Felicitates With Speaker, Principal Officers, Other Members

As members and all principal officers of the 7th Osun Assembly are inaugurated, candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the last general elections, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju has sent his congratulatory message to all the members, especially the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye.

This is just as he charged the lawmakers to make laws that will improve the state and touch the lives of every citizen of the state, stressing that the overall interest of Osun should always be their watchword.

Dr Olamiju stated this in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen through his media team in Osogbo on Friday.

He called on the lawmakers to see their new positions as one which was ordained by God, hence the need to always think of the poorest of poor in the discharge of their duties at all times.

The renowned Pharmaceutical doctor also admonished them to justify the trust and confidence the people of their various constituents have reposed in them, urging them to always see themselves as people who are called to serve.

The statement reads in part, “As the state of Osun 7th Assembly begins with the inauguration of yesterday, I want to first congratulate all the members, the principal officers and especially our new speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye for emerging as Speaker.

“I want all the members to see their new positions as one that is full of responsibilities and one that must be handled with a high sense of discipline and commitment which it deserves.

“You must use this opportunity to better the lives of the people of your constituents who gave you their votes under rain and sun, you must not let them feel disappointed. Their thoughts must always guide every of your proceedings in the house.

“I trust in the leadership accumen of the new speaker, Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye, I trust that under him we will have a peaceful and purpose driven Assembly that will make laws and policies to drive the growth and development of our dear state”. He stated.

Olamiju however eulogized the political sagacity employed by the leadership of APC under the chairmanship of Prince Gboyega Famodun, in the choice of principal officers of the House.
