Ahead of the October 10 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede a leading aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that he is set to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.

Jegede, stated this while obtaining his Expression of Interest form at the party’s Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

According to him, this is the best time for PDP to take over the state, also correct the wrong things the incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has done in the last three years in the state.

The legal luminary said, “I want to tell our people that it is the only PDP that has good structure to transform this state, we have a clear mission and vision to change things positively. Even, APC people are waiting for this transformation.

“So there is a need now to galvanize each and everyone of us and it shows clearly that this time around again, we are ready for a contest, we are ready for the primary and we are ready for the election and by the grace of God, God will help us.

While also commenting on the rumour been speculating around that Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the deputy governor is planning to leave the APC for PDP, Jegede said, “If APC was and is good, Agboola Ajayi would not leave APC and if PDP is bad, he would not say he is coming to PDP.

“So for the fact that he is leaving APC interested in coming to the PDP has demonstrated again that the APC is collapsed and he needs to look for a good house. He has found that PDP is a good house. So he is welcome because we are looking for people. The party constitution is very clear.”

Earlier, the Caretaker Chairman of the party, Engr. Clement Faboyede, thanked Jegede for supporting and holding together the PDP in Ondo state since 2016 till date.

Faboyede, affirmed the professional integrity of the learned Silk and prayed for his success at the forthcoming governorship primary election of the party.
