Democracy is the best form of government anywhere in the World as it has been established that the worst democratic government is always far better than any military government.

Democracy as a form of government guarantees freedom of speech, free election of leaders of choice, adequate representation and participation of people in the process of governance.

The democratic history of Nigeria has a record of many struggles both within and outside the country as democracy did not come to stay on a platter of gold for Nigeria and Nigerians. Many well meaning Nigerians, who are leaders of thoughts fought to standstill, many intrusions of the military into the governance of Nigeria.

Among notable Nigerians who are patriotic enough to prosecute the tough democratic struggle especially outside Nigeria is Otunba Olajumoke Ogunkeyede also known as JMK.

His sojourn abroad for many years was full of struggles for the betterment of Nigeria and her people. Otunba JMK worked hand in hand with late Pa. Anthony Enahoro whom he always refers to as “LEADER”. They together among other efforts, mobilised Nigerians in diaspora to fight the tyrannical government of late Sanni Abacha for many years, though Abacha government fought them back but their patriotism, doggedness and love for their motherland with the grace of God saw them through the thick of the struggle.

It is significantly worthy of note that Otunba Olajumoke Ogunkeyede as a lover and ardent believer of democracy led a struggle to make United States government immortalise another heroine of democracy in Nigeria; Mrs Kudirat Abiola and a street was named after her in the city of New York, an uncommon privilege for Africans.

Otunba Ogunkeyede is indeed a lover of democracy, he has contested the governorship of the State twice and always abide by the decisions of the party as a core progressive politician and leader. His contributions to the two elections of former governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and his struggles to make the administration a successful one cannot be over emphasised, also his rigorous contributions to the emergence of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola as the current governor of the State in all facets are second to none.

His announcement by the State of Osun chapter of the All Progressives Congress; APC as the Chairman, APC Campaigns Commitee for Obokun/Oriade did not come to me as a surprise but a call to service at this critical time in our State when a strong statement has to be made and a strong signal has to be sent to the whole wide world that indeed a progressive governance has come to stay in Osun and All Progressives Congress; APC is the party is in charge.

No doubt, the task is herculean but with Otunba Olajumoke Ogunkeyede at the helms of affairs, I believe that with the support and prayers of our people and the grace of God, with the commitments of our party faithfuls and members of the campaign committee, I am sure that Otunba Olajumoke Ogunkeyede led campaign committee will deliver the votes of Obokun/Oriade in bulk for the All Progressives Congress which will ensure the return of Buhari/Osinbajo Presidency back to Aso Rock, send Hon. Ajibola Famurewa to the Red Chamber, send Siji Olamiju to the Green Chamber, return Olatunbosun Oyintiloye back to the State of Osun House of Assembly and send Desmond Ojo to the State of Osun House of Assembly too.

The political job at hand really needs a man with high sense of responsibilities, experience, strategies and planning because it is indeed a tactical game; hence for the job, JMK is OK.
