The wife of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Ngozi, has promised to work towards ensuring good living for the widows in the state.

She stated this in Osogbo during the distribution of relief items to the widow by the Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA) on Thursday.

She commended the association for their support to the widows, promising that she would embark on programmes that would improve the standard of living of widows as First Lady very soon.

The wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, Elizabeth Amao, explained that the humanitarian outreach programme to donate relief items was aimed at providing succor to the people of the state.

She stated that the outreach programme was part of activities to mark and commemorate the 59th-anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Air Force.

She said, “As the current President of NAFOWA, my aim is not only to consolidate on past gains made by our association, but to also create new opportunities and explore possibilities where women, widows, and youths would form the core focus of our efforts, especially in addressing issues related to unemployment, underemployment, and widows’ empowerment.”

Over 100 widows drawn from Osogbo Local Government were given 50kg of rice, 10kg of groundnut oil, salt, milk, beans, milk, and noodles.

She commended her husband, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, for his support of the association.
