Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan: The Best Compensation To Iwoland From APC,PDP By Ibraheem Alli

As a political observer, I relate with gladiators from major political parties to garner opinion that will aid and articulate political analysis. I follow the post gubernatorial comments relating to Senatorial, constituency, local government and ward electorates expectations.

The major parties political strategists have marked their strengths and identified their weak constituencies. For Iwo constituency, there was palpable fear in both APC and PDP prior to July 16th.

While APC control room strategists have marked Iwo Federal Constituency red owing to many factors – two other prominent contestants -Barr. Kehinde Atanda of ADP and Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi of Accord who came 3rd and 4th respectively were from the constituency. The ruling party hoped that will adversely affect their performance. Truly it did, but despite, the lead with a manageable margin. They deserve a round of applause. May be the commendation should be held and be compensated with the reconstruction of Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo has agreed few weeks ago between Oyo and Osun State Governments.

The major opposition party, PDP, in their camp, demarcated Iwo to be won with landslide margin in favour of the ruling party considering the concentration of APC leaders in Iwo as if it were the headquarters of the progressives. PDP coloured Iwo to be full red. In the final result, APC won with less than a thousand votes. Iwo PDP leaders and stalwarts were distinctively commended by the country home control room for their outing they described as excellent.

Government is continum. We deserve more compensation from both parties. The government can herald the compensation with the reconstruction of Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo as earlier agreed with its Oyo State counterpart. The road is not only an asset to Iwo Iwoland but to Osun State at large connecting it with Oyo State.

The road is the only straight route with the Centre of Excellence,Lagos State. Reconstructing the path will in no small way promote commercial and economic activities between and among many states.

In addition, there is palpable fear criminals might turn the road to their advantage.

Sensiting these advantages, some monarchs from Osun West Senatorial District of Osun State gathered at Oluwo’s palace two days ago to address the press and subsequently issued a communique appealing to the governors of the two states for an urgent attention on the road.

The outcome of the Guber Poll shouldn’t limit electorates expectations. As government is continum, both the outgoing and the incoming government have the blessing of Iwoland in the outcome of the election. And more so, party should be ignored where people’s welfare is Paramount.
