2023: Fadahunsi Wins A Return Ticket, Promises Constituents Effective Representation

The Senator representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Osun East at the National assembly, Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi has pledged to double his effort with the renewed mandate and promise more and improved dividends of democracy.

The lawmakers thanked the delegates of the senatorial district for renewing their confidence in him with another mandate to represent them.

Speaking shortly after he won the party primaries held at Osujela, Atakumosa West Local Government Area of Osun State, Fadahunsi appreciated the delegates for their loyalty and believe in the advancement of the Senatorial district .

The candidate won the primary with 50 votes, having polled 187 votes to defeat his close rival, Hon Gbenga Olugbogi, who had 137 votes.

“Your support today has renewed the mandate given to me, which is a testimony of your commitment to the development of our Senatorial district and loyalty to our great party.

“I want to thank God for another opportunity to represent the good people of Ife/Ijesa and also celebrate the ever dynamic delegates who stood by me and ensured this resounding victory.

He expressed his gratitude for their encouragement and support, noting that ‘Putting People First’ will continue to be his Slogan.
The senator, who hails from Ilase-Ijesa in Osun State, stated that if he eventually wins at the general election to return as a ranking member of the Red Chamber, he would passionately represent the interest of the people of the district, promising that “he would not let them down.”

He also promised to work hand-in-hand with the executive arm at the national level to ensure continued collaboration, which he said he was sure would bring more dividends of democracy to the people of the district.

He said, his mission ‘is to give a formidable representation for the people of the senatorial district at the national assembly with a view to attracting developmental projects and promoting youth empowerment, reducing crime and guaranteeing adequate human and capital development in the constituency.

“I am in this contest because I want to give quality representation to my people because they deserve it and much more.

“Before now, I have been carrying out philantrophic gestures that have direct bearing on the lives of my people, in both my personal and national assembly member capacity.

“And so getting the people’s mandate can only mean more projects and empowerment programs for the women and youths to realize their full potentials.

“I will hold town hall meetings from time to time to ensure popular views and needs of communities are documented and a follow up to ensure positive action,”he added.

In his legislative blueprint, the candidate promised to initiate quality legislation that would improve the socio-economic well-being of his district and general people at large.

The local government areas that constitute the senatorial district are: Obokun, Oriade, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Ife North, Ife East, Ife South and Ife Central.
