Engr Raifu Mumini Adekunle, the Special Adviser on Rural Development and Community Development to Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, has charged Muslims to continue to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence and economic development of the Nigeria.

Adekunle gave the charge on Saturday in Osogbo at a Ramadan Lecture tagged “Ilerioluwa Ramadan Lecture, Special Prayer and Iftar : Ramadan Panacea to Society Problem”.

According to him, the special adviser, prayers during the Holy Month of Ramadan are granted accelerated answers.

“This is also a time of unity, therefore, we must preach unity among ourselves as a nation with people of different faiths, tribe, background and political beliefs.


“At a time when Nigeria is badly divided, a united and indivisible nation under God and and respect for constituted authority should be our watchword.

“In addition, it’s important not to forget to donates to the less privileged and the needy, let’s share from the little Allah has blessed us with with the poor and the vulnerable in our society. Ultimately, these are the reasons for this Ramadan and May Allah grant us all the gains of our devotion in this holy month.

“Like we all are aware already, the importance of Ramadan in our lives as Muslims cannot be overemphasized, it’s a time to grow spiritually and become closer to our loved ones,” he said.

Adekunle, who was represented at the Programme by Engr Lasun Olaniyi, APC Chairman Iwo Local Government, disclosed that the programme was also organised to drum support and offer prayers for the reelection bid of governor Oyetola, therefore, said the ruling APC will be victorious in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

The guest Lecture, Fadeelatu Sheik Isiaq Afolabi, Grand Imam of Islahudeen Society of Nigeria Akewukewe, expressed worry over the spate of insecurity in the country saying that the only solution to the problems currently facing the country was for every citizens to go back to almighty Allah.

He, however, Identified bad leadership as one of the factors contributing to the series of problems bedeviling the country.

He urged political office holders to always have the interest of the people in mind saying they should think of what they could do to make life comfortable for the citizens.

He, however, commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola over his efforts in bringing unprecedented development to the state.

In his earlier address, the Asiwaju of Iwoland, Dr Liadi Tella urged Muslims and Christians to always live in peace and harmony and guard against provocations that may lead to the destruction of lives and properties.

He commended the organiser of the programme for his Initiatives at ensuring that people gathered to listen to the word of God especially in this holy month of Ramadan.

He , however, used the occasion to pray for the success of APC and Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the coming July 16 governorship election in the state.
