Foremost entrepreneur and a leading House of Representatives aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Hon Abosede Ogo-Oluwa Kitan has said, she joined the race for the ticket to represent the entire people of Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly of the House of Representatives in 2023, purposely to serve her people diligently and change the narratives of representation for better and robust one and ensuring quality and effective representation of the largest Federal Constituency in Osun.

Abosede made this known on Thursday in a statement of declaration made available to Newsmen in Osogbo the state capital, she said, if mandate is given, elders, youths, women and other stakeholders will be carried along without marginalization or discrimination.

She pledged that if she wins the ticket and get elected into the green chamber, social welfare for the aged, as well as youths empowerment programmes and poverty alleviating programmes for women will be given utmost priority.

She also explained that Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu as the largest Federal Constituency in Osun had been denied quality and adequate representation at the lower Chamber of the National Assembly, which she promised to correct as soon as the mandate is given.

According to her, “as a philanthropist, i derived a lot of joy in putting smiles on the faces of people, and it has been part of me for a very long time, and my believe is that politics is all about selfless services to humanity and delivering dividends of democracy to the people and people alone”.

“As you all know that women with dignity don’t betray, as a woman with dignity, I promise to deliver the people of Osogbo Olorunda Irepodun and Orolu Federal Constituency from political enslavement and misrepresentation”, she added.

She explained further that “the time has come and gone where House of Representatives member will be running from his responsibilities, complaining and lamenting with constituents instead of bringing them out of lamentations, i promised to make myself accessible and available to my constituents always”.

Hon Abosede opined that she was in the race to also bridge the gap of effective representation where every stakeholders will be carried along. She said that she will also work assiduously to provide job opportunities for her constituents beyond people’s expectation.

In her words, “we all know that every politics is local. Our people know those in the race for the ticket; they know am the only woman contesting and am the most prepared and the best among the aspirants. Women with dignity don’t betray. Our leaders know my pedigree. They know my biological father and they all know what I can offer”.

Abosede, who is a native of Ifon Osun, Orolu local government council area of Osun state, is a direct daughter of the late business mogul and philanthropist, Chief Afolabi Ogo-Oluwa kitan, studied Political Science at Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto and has Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies at the Lagos State University.

Abosede said she got her husband’s consent to contest, and he had given her a go ahead with full support, and as a matter of fact, “we move together for consultation, this shows am a woman with dignity and a responsible wife to my husband”.

“We can not continue to do the same things the same way and expect a different result, this is time for a change in narratives and ideas; as a responsible woman, I’m coming with the best and fresh ideas and approach and the best ways of doing things that will bring about purposeful representation with feedback to the leaders and other stakeholders in our dear Constituency”.

Hon Abosede therefore enjoined the entire people of Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Federal Constituency to join hands together and support her aspiration to become a reality for the betterment of the largest Constituency in Osun.
