A warehouse located at Enuwa Street, Isale Eko area, Lagos, has been demolished.

It was gathered that the owner of the warehouse simply known as Mr Okunola demolished it on August 14, 2021 after a tyre dealer, Mr Alao Ismail, reportedly uncovered that the place was being used to stockpile arms and ammunition for political purposes.

According to reports, the warehouse was demolished by Mr Okunola, a stalwart of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to cover his tracks and avoid being arrested by the law enforcement agents.

It was gathered that Mr Alao Ismail who was selling tyres beside the warehouse had video evidence of when some politicians and political thugs were offloading wooding crates that contained guns, cutlasses and daggers at Mr Okunola’s warehouse.

Ismail’s friend, Olatunji Soyinka, confirmed to this medium that he (Ismail) was in possession of a video evidence of how some politicians and political thugs allegedly working for Okunola, were stockpiling arms and ammunition in preparatory for the 2023 governorship primary election in Lagos State and Presidential primary election of the APC.

Soyinka told this medium that the politicians and hoodlums came to offload arms and ammunition around 3am on July 30, 2021 at Okunola’s warehouse located around Enuwa Street, Isale Eko area, Lagos, unknown to them that Ismail was inside his shop which is next to the warehouse.

According to Soyinka, Ismail video-recorded the political thugs and was sighted in the process.

“Luckily, Ismail had sent the video to his wife and deleted it on his phone before the hoodlums caught up with him and he denied having any video when he was confronted by Mr Okunola the following day”, said Soyinka.

Several attempts were reportedly made on Ismail’s life to ensure that the evidence with him did not get to the security agents.

On August 5, 2022, according to Soyinka, Ismail escaped death when some assailants on power bike fired gunshots at his vehicle, shattering both the front and back windscreens. “Ismail escaped death by the whisker as he jumped out of his car and fled”, according Soyinka.

Ismail had gone into exile since the incident happened and when it was clear that Okunola and assailants were after his life.

It was gathered that Ismail’s wife, Lateefat Bosede, also escaped an attack when some hoodlums wanted to force their way into her house located at Funsho Kinoshi area, Akota, Lagos, on August 15, 2022, before some policemen dispersed them.

The medium learnt that the failed attack on Ismail’s wife forced her to relocate to her village in Kwara State for safety.
