As Christian faithful in the state of Osun join their counterparts around the world to celebrate this year’s Easter festival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has congratulated Christians on the occasion, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The party also tasked Christians in the state to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ in building love, unity and peaceful co-existence in the state.

This goodwill message was contained in a statement issued from party’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy and signed by its Director, Kunle Oyatomi Esq and made available to Newsmen on Thursday in Osogbo the state capital, and urged Christians to be guided by the ideas and virtues that Jesus Christ lived and died for.

According to the party, “as we all know that this year’s Easter celebration is taking place when Osun is preparing for this year’s gubernatorial election, Christian faithful are urged to intensify their prayers for love, peace and tolerance which will make citizens live peacefully and shun violence and killings before, during and after the gubernatorial election”.

Osun APC also used the opportunity to seek the continuous prayers and support from people of Osun for Alh. Gboyega Oyetola-APC led administration which, in the last 40 months, has developed the state with series of progressive projects.

The party said the Easter celebration is a reminder to imbibe the spirit of making sacrifices in the interest of the entire citizens of Osun as well as the nation, as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Osun APC assures citizens of the state on Gov. Oyetola’s determination to continue to promote the interest and welfare of the citizenry as he has been doing and will continue to do.

The party wishes Christians in the state a happy Easter celebration while urging all privileged citizens to help and extend their giving hands to the less previleged people purposely to better their lives during and after the celebration.
