Ifon-Orolu: You’re A Key To Electoral Success Of APC, Stakeholders Shower Encomium On Rep Oyewo

Stakeholders in Orolu local have described the House of Representatives member representing Irepodun, Olorunda, Orolu and Osogbo federal constituency as key to the electoral success of the All Progressives Congress in the local government.

The community in a statement signed by Prince Ramoni Adeyemi, while welcoming Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to the town on Thursday for his campaign tour, said the whole stakeholders are behind Olubukola Oyewo.

The described the visit as historic, calling on the leadership of the APC not to toy with the development agenda of Ifon-Orolu kingdom.

The statement reads, “Orolu Stakeholders is glad to welcome His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola to Orolu Local Government, Ifon-Osun. We are indeed happy for such historic visit that will enable Mr. Governor to read the body language of our dear people. We have no doubt that our amiable leader will not toy with golden opportunity to listen to yearning of majority of our people because it is an opportunity that will translate to better cooperation, understanding and fruitfulness.

“There is no doubt that the genuine feeling of our people is that, Orolu has been one of the few marginalized local governments area in Osun State. Unfortunately, there is no single Orolu indigene in the current Executive Council of Osun State and our area is yet to witness a landmark project by the State Government, despite the fact that Orolu Local Government area is one of the few places where Osun Governorship Re-Run Election that produced current administration was held.

“The Orolu people have not been happy that the incumbent administration has yet to give us any preference.

“Moreover, the seeming feelings that the ruling party has no interest in Orolu Agenda is a serious issue among many progressive members of Orolu public. Fortunately, Hon. Olubukola Oyegbile Oyewo was elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to represent Osogbo / Irepodun / Olorunda / Orolu Federal Constituency in Federal House of Representatives at such a critical time. We are proud to declare to the public that Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has stood-out himself as a key factor towards the victory of the ruling party in Orolu Local Government because of his exceptional good performance that wooed entire Orolu Stakeholders and Ifon-Osun Community as a whole.

“It is imperative to mention that Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has closed the obvious gap between the government and Orolu public because he was able to disappoint his political detractors by facilitating some projects of interest to majority of Orolu people.

“Hon. Olubukola Oyewo beat imagination of many people when he facilitated roofing of Ifon-Orolu Town Hall that has been abandoned since two decades ago! He convinced the Orolu people to understand good representation by attracting dividends of democracy when he responded to the yearning of various locations on their respective needs.

“Among other major projects that was credited to him are – tarring of Janta – Ikunsin Road; construction of link briges at Gboro / Oke-Odo and Oke-Alaafia areas; provision of Solar Street lights at Janta; construction of classrooms at Eleesi Primary School; various human capacity development programmes; grading of roads in Ikimo and Ifeco Road etc.

“It is on our good record that Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has qualified himself as the first political office holders to have had the highest sum of financial contributions to the purse of the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union for various developmental interventions and this is why Orolu Stakeholders will continue to support and encourage Hon. Olubukola in order to let other political office holders understand why people in public offices should partner with their community in the nearest future.

“Interestingly, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, a silent achiever like the incumbent Governor Isiaka Oyetola has creditably done well in terms of physical development across other locations in his Constituency. There is no doubt that Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has spoken to the Orolu Community through his good performance and lasting legacies and Orolu Stakeholders will continue to hold him in high esteem.

“The Orolu Stakeholders that includes the Olufon Traditional Council of Chiefs, Religious leaders, Community leaders and representatives of Olufon Royal family are appealing to the Osun State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola to respect various calls of Orolu on issues relating to Orolu development with assurance that Ifon-Orolu Community are sensitive and thus will reciprocate whatever attention is given. Specifically, it is expected that better attention will be given to Orolu Community in accordance with request of Orolu Community leaders. Finally, we welcome Governor Isiaka Oyetola to Orolu Local Government and wish him all the best in his re-election bid.”

The stakeholders commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the rehabilitation of Osogbo-Ilobu-Ifon and other infrastructural developments in the town.

“The entire people of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom sees this opportunity to appreciate the State Governor, Alh. Adegboyega Oyetola, on the ongoing road construction and rehabilitation of Ifon – Ilobu Road, Orita-Elentere Ifon through Olúfọ́n’s Palace, down to Janta area. We feel highly motivated and hoping to see more of this community development in our town and its environments.”

It would be recalled that Abosede Afolabi-Kasumu’s was forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission by the party after several of weeks of controversy that trailed the primaries held in May.
