Ido Ijesa People Express Gratitude As Hon Ayeni Donates N500,000 Towards Their Drainage Project

Residents of Ido Ijesa Community in Ilesa, Osun State have expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Babatunde Ayeni for his contribution towards the ongoing drainage construction in the community.

Hon. Ayeni, who represents people of Atakunmosa East/ Atakunmosa West and Ilesa East/West donated a sum of five hundred thousand naira to the community as part of his own contribution to drainage project in the community.

CityMirrorNews reports that landlords of Ido Ijesa Community had embarked on the construction of water drainage of their environment to rid the community of flooding.

Residents of the community, who could not hide their joy, however, appreciated the lawmaker for his continuous support towards the upliftment of the community and the entire Ijesa South constituency at large.

A Resident of the area , Mr Olu Kolawole, applauded the steps taken by residents and landlords of the community in assisting the government in moving the community forward, through the construction of the drainage.

He praised the development committee of the community for its dogged determination to push the project, stressing that the realisation of the project would have been a mirage without the donations made by the lawmaker and committed landlords in the community.

CityMirrorNews reports that the lawmaker, cum philanthropist, had in collaboration with his Foundation, LB Ayeni Foundation presented a cheque of N500,000 to the representatives of Ido Ijesa in support of the drainage project embarked upon by them.

Ayeni while presenting the cheque commended the residents of the community for the proactive measures being taken by them to prevent erosion and dangers attached to flooding as the rainy season is fast approaching

“Apart from my foundation’s empowerment scheme, improving the lives of my constituents and community development had been my utmost priority prior to and after my election into the green chambers of the National Assembly as a member representing Atakumosa East and West, Ilesa East and West.

“However, Ifeloju community off Ile Ayo llesa has been in a protracted blackout and when my attention was drawn to the plight of the residents, I intervened by inviting the community leaders who gave me the cost of fixing the electricity problem.

“Consequent upon our discussion, I gave the community a sum N200,000 to hasten the restoration of electricity supply to the community.

“I thank the community for keeping me abreast of happenings in their areas and making my job easier, because good representation is based on information.
without you there can not be me.” he said

He, however, urged residents of the two communities, he had assisted, and the entire constituents to continue to support the present administration in the state just as he enjoined them to cast their votes for Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the coming gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on July 16.
