The National Working Committee of a socio-political group, Tinubu Support Organisation has distanced itself from the adoption of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai as the vice- presidential candidate.

Members of the group across the federal described the statement credited to TSO’s Director-General, Aminu Suleiman, as an individual opinion of the DG.

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had openly admitted that he is still searching for his running mate. Sources within the APC said the party’s candidate is considering Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum or his predecessor, Senator Kashim Shettima as preferred options.

But speaking during a press conference on Monday in Kaduna, TSO’s Director-General, Aminu Suleiman, said the group arrived at the choice of El-Rufai after meeting with critical stakeholders from the northwest zone and beyond.

In a counter statement, made available to Newmen , TSO National Director of Publicity, Hon Sahabi Sani Sami LLM in a statement said the Suleiman statement is his own personal decision saying there have never been a time members of the group met to agree or endorse Gov El-Rufai.

‘Aminu Suleiman statement is his own personal decision not that of the members of the group. We have no power to endorse anybody as the running mate of our Principal and APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.’

‘While we did not dispute the fact that Gov El-Rufai is capable considering his wealth of experience and his remarkable contribution to the Growth of the party we are saying emphatically that we have not endorsed him as we are still waiting for decision of the APC National working Committee.’

“We want to urge members of the public to disregard such a report as it is the personal opinion of the person who was quoted to have said it.
