Federal Lawmaker, Salam Organises Leadership Training For Teenagers In Osun

A lawmaker representing Ede/Egbemode/Ejigbo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Bamidele Salam, has charged youths in the country to focus more on how to ensure development in the country.

Salam gave the charge a teenagers leadership bootcamp he organised for teenagers across the four local Governments of Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo.

The bootcamp according to the lawmaker aimed at exposing the participants to some activities that are not captured in their academic curriculum but that are useful for their growth and that of the nation.

These according to him including sessions on leadership, career talks, public speaking, financial literacy among others.

The lawmaker further explained that he organized the programme as part of his efforts to prepare the teenagers ahead of the leadership task and responsibilities as future Leaders.

Salaam said he believes programme would encourage the participants to follow their dreams so they can be better leaders of tomorrow.

He explained that his passion for economic advancement in terms of creating jobs and bringing investors to better the life of his Constituents remains the driving force for the programme.

Speaking one of the beneficiaries, Popoola Muminat appreciated the Lawmaker for preparing them for future challenges saying despite the fact they are not close to voting age , Salam did it out of the passion he has for the growth and the development of his constituents.

“We are teenagers. We are not even close to voting age. Yet, we got massive attention from our Lawmaker, representing us at the the National Assembly, Rep Bamidele Salam .

“We were camped for 3 days we got trained on life impacting topics we never came across in our regular curriculum.

CityMirrorNews reports that three days programme started on Friday and ended Monday with the distribution of educational materials to each of the participants.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Students of tertiary institutions drawn from Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, will again today receive bursary awards from the lawmaker.

However, hundreds of primary and secondary school teachers, (public and private schools) in the federal constituency have been slated as participants in another training event to boost their capacity and skills on the all important education system in the federal constituency. The training and empowerment program holds tomorrow.

The teachers will also be strategically empowered in line with the objectives of the training program, which is to enhance academic excellence in the federal constituency.

Present at the event were the Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the state.
