Osun Assembly Charges OSSIEC On Credible Elections

The Osun State House of Assembly has charged Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to be more tolerant
during the election periods.

Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation Hon Taiwo Adebayo Olodo made this known on Wednesday at the ongoing budget defence exercise at the House of Assembly Osogbo.

He appreciated the efforts of the members commission in discharging their civic obligations.

He advised the commission to be up and doing in its undertakings .

He promised that the house of assembly would give necessary support to the commission to succeed.

According to him, “All necessary support will be giving by house of assembly for OSIEC to succeed in their assignments” .
He advised everyone to take his or her part actively for credible, effective and smooth elections.

He also charged the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to to invest more on mechanized farming for state to have large food production.

He noted that only mechanized farming can sustain present situation in Osun.
The OSIEC Chairman Otunba Segun Oladitan in his response solicited for the support of the house of assembly to deliver their assignment.

He urged the various political parties to always do the needful on candidates presentation.

He advised the political parties to do their home work very well before presenting a candidate for an elections.

According to him, “There should be internal democracy among the political parties”.

“It is the responsibility of political parties to present qualify candidates fof an elections. OSIEC is very active in term of election” he added.

He confirmed that the commission is set and ready for an elections any time.
Among the ministry, department and agencies of government appeared for defense exercise including Osun Independent Electoral Commission, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Osun State Agriculture Commission Development and Osun State Agriculture Development Programme respectively.
