A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunji Awe, has given out a set of computer to a school as well as West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, forms and cash prizes to students.
Awe, who is the proprietor of TSolid Radio, an online FM station broadcasting from Ibadan, said it was borne out of the need to encourage students so as to be focused on their educational pursuit.
Held in conjunction with the Osun State College of Technology, OSCOTECH, Esa-Oke chapter of the Junior Chamber International, the contest, which was the third edition of the Olatunji Awe Inter-secondary schools debate completion, saw St. John Comprehensive Academy going home with the star prize.
Speaking after the event, Awe, who also owns TSolid Farms and TSolid Apartments, said that the need to maintain the debate culture, give to schools and students who cannot afford basic things like notebooks and uniform motivated him.
Methodist High School, Ilesa and Esa Oke Grammar School came second and third respectively.
