Ooni Installs Business Tycoon, Kolade Iyalaje Oodua

A business tycoon, Mrs Toyin Kolade, has been installed as Iyalaje Oodua by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

CityMirrorNews reports that Osun State First Lady, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, and the deputy governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja, were among the dignitaries that witnessed the installation.

The event, which took place at Ile Oodua palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Saturday was also witnessed by the wife of a former Ogun State governor, Mrs Funsho Amosun, amongst others.

During the rites preceding the installation, Kolade was led to Idi Aje, the shrine of Aje diety, and was later received by Ooni and other guests in attendance at the palace court where prayers were offered for her

Speaking, the newly installed Iyalaje Oodua, Mrs Kolade, described as divine call to duty just as she promised to continue to work for the prosperity of the Oduduwa race.

Kolade, who was installed Iyalaje Oodua at a colourful ceremony held inside the palace of Ooni of Ife, said her choice for the post was divine.

She also called for cooperation that would enhance trade and commerce among the people of the race.

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, in his remarks, urged the new Iyalaje Oodua to work more for the promotion of Yoruba culture and tradition.

He prayed for more prosperity of the Yoruba race and called for cooperation that can enhance commerce and promote peace within and outside the race.

At the event were dignitaries that include; wife of Osun State Governor, Kafayat Oyetola, Kogi State Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, wife of ex Ogun state governor, Funsho Amosun, Dein of Agbor, Olowo of Owo amongst others.
