The Osun Security Network, code-named Amotekun Corps Commandant, Brig-Gen Bashir Adewinmbi (rtd) has promised residents of the state of maximum security before, during and after the Id-El-Kabir festival slated for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Commandant who made this assurance in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital on Friday, advised residents to ensure surveillance and report suspected acts or persons to the security personnel for quick response.
Adewinmbi who appreciated the complete efforts and supports of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to Amotekun group in the state said, men of the security group were battle ready towards the protection of life and property during the period of the annual festival.
He commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the proactive approach towards security matters, urging Osun residents to support efforts at stamping all forms of crimes out of the state.
According to him, “there is no need for the entire residents of the state to be panic before, during and after this year Id-El-Kabir’s celebration in the state as we have our men in all the nooks and crannies of the state to ensure adequate security”.
The Commandant who called for complete support of the people of the state to Amotekun security personnel said security of any state is a collective responsibility.
He further explained that, all the community leaders and other stakeholders should demonstrate their unflinching support to the men of the group for them to achieve maximally.
Osun Amotekun boss, however urged the residents to call 293 whenever they have any information that has to do with security.
He said, “We have 293 security number, you can call without having credit on your phone, just dial 293 during the festival period and at anytime”.
