Emmanuel Gbogi, a security expert and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state, has
charged politicians to invest more on youths for the betterment of society rather than giving them peanut in the name of empowerment.

Lieutenant Gbogi, gave the charge on Tuesday in Akure while speaking with the online journalists and publishers on his interest to vying for seat of Akoko South-West Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly ahead the 2023 elections.

Gbogi, who explained that he had been impacted lives since 2014 through the Gbogi Emmanuel Foundation said he would continue where Hon. Olugbenga Omole, a member representing Akoko South-West Constituency 1 would stop in 2023 for the betterment of Akoko people.

“As a politician you need to invest on your people, not by giving them peanut or buying them okada and saying that you are empowering them. You put them where they can develop their talents.

I am not a politician that will start distributing money, I’m not going to give money to anybody to vote for me but I’m going to invest on my people because we are very intelligent in Akoko.

“The best investment you can do is to invest in humanity. If I give you #50,000, in two months you would have finished it. But when I invest in you and it begins to yield ,everyone around you will also benefit.

“There is international football school in Brazil, Argentina where through government we can sponsor our people. Not playing football in Oka Akoko, who sees you over there. That is an insult on my people in Akoko. Organizing Ayo Olopon is so retarded and insulting to the people.

“I came back to this country to serve my people in continuation of what my Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had been doing.

“If you look around, Akeredolu is doing wonderful jobs and that is why I said I wanted to support him, he is doing what the good people of Ondo needs and no governor in this state has done what this man is doing in the areas of developmental projects.

“For us to move forward in this state, all hands must be on deck, everyone must contribute his own quoters.”
