OAU: Accounting Set 2001 Refurbishes PG Seminar Room, Calls For Conducive Learning Environment

Newly Refurbished PG Seminar Room

Set 2001 of the Department of Management & Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Friday handed over a refurbished Post Graduate Room to the University management.

The President of the Alumni group, Tolulope Ogundipe, said the project was born out of a quest to give back to their alma mater and to project the greatness of the University.


He, further explained that his set has total conviction on the importance of conducive academic atmosphere, as a robust instrument of academic excellence.

Ogundipe, added that there was consesus among his mates that the citadel had given so much to them individually and shaped their lives towards greatness, hence, the desire to reciprocate the gesture.

He, however, enjoined other alumni in the university to follow suite and develop the spirit to give back to their Alma mater, adding that development is a function of concerted efforts from all critical stakeholders.

According to him,” Our set comprises of clear-headed individuals with strong feelings for humanity and broader perception of development in all ramifications.

“This is exactly how we started as students, looking beyond the present moment to prepare a better future for ourselves and the coming generation.

“This project is a product of our common belief in qualitative education through standardised environment that will aid learning.

“We are also setting a pace for many others to emulate this gesture and support governments at all levels to build a virile academic environment that could engender training and research for speedy development”.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, of the institution, Prof. Bola Babalola, who represented the Vice-chancellor at the event commended the set for giving back to their Alma Mater, saying such gesture would go a long way to spur others alike to take action towards contributing their quotas to the development of the institution.
