Gov Akeredolu Is A Defender Of True Federalism – Bola Ilori

The Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been applauded for providing good leadership and defending his people at all time in the South West region in the spirit of true federalism.

This was made know during the solidarity visit by a political group, Independent Campaign Group (ICG in the All-Progressives Congress (APC) ) led by Hon Bola Ilori at the Cocoa Conference Centre of the Ondo State Government Secretariat yesterday.

The group which spoke through its leader and APC chieftain, Bola Ilori, during a solidarity courtesy visit to the Governor in his office yesterday, equally saluted the courage and doggedness of Governor Akeredolu who also doubles as Chairman of the Western Nigeria Governors’ Forum for being a leading light in the South West.

Ilori who specially commended the quick response of the Governor in stemming the tide of security challenges facing the state and the entire South-West region, said the action of the Governor has further portrayed him as a leader that cares for the welfare of the people he is elected to serve in line with the letters of the Nigerian constitution the spirit of true federalism.

He advised the Governor to go forward to also show leadership by providing lasting solution to the issue of farmer-herders clash in the state by activating old existing ranches in the state and encourage the youths of the state to take up the cattle rearing business.

While commending the national leadership of the party particularly President Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for their tremendous support in winning the last gubernatorial election in the state, Ilori also used the occasion to congratulate the Governor on his landslide victory in the last governorship poll in the state, describing as a “governor that can talk and do”.

In his response, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu appreciated the group for the support given to him which also contributed to his landslide victory at the poll, describing the victory as a collective one. He noted that “ICG big rallies and yellow caps remaining a memorable part of that heavily fought election. Bola Ilori and others, I really thank you all”.

He assured that his administration would not shy away from its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the residents wherever they may be.

He further stated that the Odua Investment has taken over Akununu Cattle ranch and that it is Auga-Akoko ranch that Ondo state government is presently considering reactivating. He also said the government is going to provide support for private investors to build feeding-lots for cow rearing and would support the youths of the state to be active in the business.

The Governor described as a big challenge, the level of insecurity facing the state and South-West region, saying that all hands must be on deck to address the situation in the interest of the people.
