Youths and Leadership Initiative have
berated the Senate for shoddiness in the clearance of the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) who presented questionable certificates.

The group also blamed the Department of State Security Services for lack of due diligence in their screening of the FCC Chairman.

They said she d the Senate and the Peesident in her recommendation to the red chamber

They alleged that her present name is not consistent with all her other documents.

The group of Nigerian youth under the aegis of Lygel Youths Leadership Initiative said the Senate confirmation of the appointment of Muheebat Dankaka was without consideration of the fact that she presented false information on her bio-data to the Senate.

The group said withholding of vital information remained an offence to the law and the gloss over by security agencies on all relevant documents is counter productive

They demanded thorough examination for the benefit of all Nigerians, especially, as the credibility of the office of the federal character Commission touched onall appointments.

Director, of Legal and Compliance, Olalekan Idowu Oladipo who addressed the media in Abuja said: “it is grave criminal offence under our law for someone to give a false information to anybody in authority as the FCC Chairman has done.

“The questionable documents she submitted to both the Presidency, the DSS and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria leading to her appointment and subsequent ratification by the Senate as the Chairman of FCC is questionable of gargantuan proportion!

“ln condemning the incidences of questionable certificates, the Nigerian Supreme Court in SALEH VS. ABBA 920170 LPELR-41914 (SC) came down heavily on characters such as the FCC Chairman in these telling words: We are of the firm view that a party must not be allowed to profit from his or her
fraud.

“No decent system or polity should condone, or through judicial policy and decisions, encourage the dangerous culture of forgoing certificates with impunity.

“We hereby demand the immediate resignation OF THE Chairman of the FCC from her office as the Chairman of the FCC based on this obvious inconsistences and irreconcilable credentials.
“In the event she fails neglects and or refuses to heed this request within 7 days we shall take necessary action to ensure justice is not only done but be seen to be done.”
