The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State and the lovers of the party, on Tuesday, welcomed Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke back home from the United States of America.
The Governorship Candidate of the PDP in the last gubernatorial election in Osun State was greeted by billboards bearing different messages as he returned to Osun State. Prominent among these were, ” We welcome Imole”, “Welcome Back Senator Ademola Adeleke”, “Osun people have been waiting for you”, among others.
On his arrival to Osogbo, Osun State capital, Senator Adeleke in company of friends and associates proceeded to PDP party Secretariat, located at Biket area, along Ikirun road , Osogbo where they were received by the enthusiastic members and lovers of the party.
He used the occasion to express gratitude to the leaders and members of the party for their support over the years, especially in backing his ambition to contest as the party’s Governorship Candidate.
Ademola who enjoined members of the party to be united said he would do everything within his reach to ensure he reunites all the aggrieved party members and ensure the party emerges victorious during the coming gubernatorial election.
Welcoming the former governorship candidate, the PDP Chairman in Osun State, Hon. Sunday Bisi, said, “It gladdens our heart that in spite of the vicious political manipulation which robbed Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Governorship position in 2018 and the naked use of power to harass him, the Governorship Candidate of the party had deemed it fit to immediately use the period after the election in a very productive and rewarding manner.
“Instead of whining in bitterness or even creating mischief to protest the controversial decions of the courts after the 2018 elections, Senator Adeleke stayed focused on personal self development and positive engagements as a true democrat and reminiscent of historical values of your dynasty.
“We love your courage and we appreciate your disposition as a man of peace. we are covinced that you are a man of divine purpose. Your unflinching effort at reinvigorating the party even while in far away United States of America depicts you as vessel of love, who will spare nothing to emancipate the good people of Osun State.
“We are proud of the attainment of the honours you attained and even more proud of the heart warming recommendations of the college authorities and your course mates. You have demonstrated beyond doubt that where there is a will, there will also be a way.
“With the additional feat to previous ones in the Social, Economic and Political spheres, you have assured us that you are better positioned to drive the process of growth in our dear State and Nigeria as a whole.
“Let me use this medium to warm those who feel they can subdue our party with force of violence to desist forthwith. Such vain effort cannot get at us as our courage is too fortified to be discouraged.
“Testing the will of our people through any form of violence of is an effort in futility but stretching it further will backfire. We will not warn you again.
“On our part as a party, we pray the Almighty God grants Senator Ademola Adeleke good health and sound mind to continually be of service to Osun State, Nigeria and humanity in general,” the PDP Chairman stated.
