The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of Osun has told the opposition PDP to stop deceiving itself that its candidate won the 2018 gubernatorial election, as it claimed to have been vindicated by Hon Lasun’s childish and baseless allegation which is far from the reality.
The party said “it is a pity that Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi is still living in self delusion, for calling Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led government a “stolen mandate”, saying that no matter how hard the opposition PDP tries, it cannot get Osun people to repeat the tragedy and horrible experience of 2003 to 2010.
This was contained in a statement issued from party’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy and signed by its Director, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi and made available to Newsmen on Sunday in Osogbo, the state capital.
Oyatomi noted that it is absolutely uncalled for, illogical and unreasonable for the former Deputy Speaker Lasun Yusuf to be tarnishing the image of the Party (APC) that made him what he is today, just because of his selfish interest, noting that Governor Oyetola would not be distracted by the ranting of people, who are only good at spreading fabricated lies to mislead the public.
“The state of Osun has left the era of treasury looting and inglorious government behind as APC has taken the governance of Osun to an enviable higher pedestal”, Oyatomi declared.
“Osun is no go area for the corrupt and looters in the next year July 16 governorship election, adding that people of the state are wiser than ever and would not be deceived again with mere blackmail and propaganda, noting that Oyetola has positively impressed the entire people of Osun in terms of good governance.
Oyatomi expressed that it is hypocritical and nonsensical for the PDP with legacy of bad governance to be alleging Oyetola-led government of having no infrastructural development to show in Osun in the last 3 years, saying that the present government of Oyetola has done for Osun more than people’s expectations in developing the state and will continue to work for the development of the state.
According to Oyatomi, “despite the lean resources coming to Osun, the present administration of Oyetola has built many kilometers of roads, schools, health care facilities across the state, adding that Governor Oyetola’s achievements were so impressive that he won many accolades within and outside the media space in the country.
Oyatomi reinstated that the criticism by the PDP and other agents of backwardness which described Oyetola’s 3 years of progressive achievements as ‘a waste’, is an attempt to mislead some people in the state, saying that those in opposition and their co-agents are blind to see the progressive achievements and infrastructural development made possible by the APC government of Gov Adegboyega Oyetola.
