Easter: Yoruba Progressive Forum Tasks Buhari To Promote Unity Among Nigerians

A sociocultural group, Yoruba Progressive Forum (YPF), has felicitated with Christians as they celebrate Easter with a call to Nigeria President, Muhammad Buhari to brace up with the task of ensuring that the country overcome her present challenges.

The group in an Easter message issued and signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Olalekan Lateef, and Publicity secretary, Ojeyemi Elijah, a copy which was made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, on Monday said there is need for President Muhammad Buhari to wake from his slumber and rise to the security challenges currently bedeviling the country.

YPF however charged the Nigerian leaders at all levels on the need to work towards the pursuit of peace and unity among the citizens irrespective of their political or ethno religious affiliations, so as to boost the advancement of the country.

While considering the level of damaged caused by insecurity, hunger, unemployment among others, the group called on the leaders, to brace up with the task of making Nigeria a better place for future generations.

Expressing worry over the incessant killings, kidnaping and hunger, YPF appealed to government to stop paying lips service to insecurity challenges, hunger and other challenges.

The group also called on all those in position of governance to abide by their oats of office and the constitution of the country.

“The security breaches we have been having had manifested in diverse forms”, the group stressed.

We therefore urge the christians to use this period to pray for the unity and peace of the country.
