Akinrun’s Death: A Colossal Loss To Progressive Fold––Oranmiyan

A sociocultural group, Oranmiyan worldwide, has expressed shock on the demise of Akinrun of Ikirun land, Oba AbdulRauf Olawale Adedeji II.

CityMirrorNews reports that Oba Adedeji joined his ancestors on Wednesday night at the age of 78 years.

He was installed the Akirun of Ikirun in 1991.

The Director General of Oranmiyan , Honourable Sadiq Olajide Moruf stated this on Friday after the interment of the monarch in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area of Osun state.

Sadiq who commisirated with the sons and daughters of Ikirun, the traditional rulers in the state and Immidiate family of the monarch described the late Akinrun as a core progressive monarch who was always concerned about the development of his town, the state and entire country.

Director General of Oranmiyan said the city of Ikirun no doubt, has witnessed unprecedented development during the resign of the monarch.

He further said that the late monarch would be remembered for his “worthy service and invaluable contributions” to the sustenance of the peace and harmony among his people.

“Oba Adedeji had lived a very fulfilled life, and has left worthy legacies for his successors to build upon,” he said.

“He was staunch supporter of our principal, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from time immemorial, during legal battle till the time our principal was pronounced by the court as the Governor.

“He believed so much in Aregbesola’s principles and ideologies and he stood by him when the journey was very tough and rough. Baba is a core progressive monarch who believe so much in the development of his town, state and the entire country.

“As a typical Yoruba, we believe he never died , he only went on a journey to join his ancestors. May God Almighty forgive him and grant him Aljanat Fridaos.
