Osun: Residents, Commuters Lament As Security Operatives Block Road Ahead Of Inauguration Of APC Ward Executives (Photos)

Osun State All Progressives Congress, APC have been accused of disrupting free flow of traffic at Gbongan-Ibadan road, Ogo-oluwa area, Osogbo.
It was gathered that the road was blocked ahead of the inauguration of APC of ward Congress and stakeholders meeting ahead of Local Government Congress slated to hold on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
There were heavy presence of security Operatives on Friday morning, as operatives of Joint Task Force, Mobile Policemen and Nigerian Police Force amongst others combed the area
before the party Secretariat which instilled fear in residents.
Commuters and commercial drivers lamented bitterly as the security operatives restricted to narrow streets and one way as alternative routes which resulted into traffic jams .
A commuter driver, who simply identified as Alhaji Sodiq said: “I’ve been on this road for two hours, I’m so stressed. It’s just so annoying. Just from Owode-ede to Olaiya. This makes no sense to me.
“Why should they inconvenient residents because of a programme. It’s not even today but tomorrow” .
However, CityMirrorNews gathered that there would be a stakeholders meeting and the inauguration of newly elected ward executives on Friday ahead the Saturday Local Congress.
Reacting, Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Barr Kunle Oyatomi said the presence of the security operatives were to maintain law and order.
According to Oyatomi, the security Operatives were deployed to ensure caution because of what the party experienced recently during the meeting of the appeal Committee to see to the issue of last Congress ward Congress .
