Ondo 2020: ADC Declares Support For ZLP Candidate, Ajayi

Ahead of the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, members and leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), have declared their support for the gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi.

The party led by its leader in the state, Bode Iwaloye alongside the chairmen across the 18 local government areas of the state, made the pledge on Sunday in Akure.

Iwaloye, said the party took the decision based on Ajayi’s readiness to rescue the state from APC led government undemocratic affairs.

He posited that ADC was fully ready to work in hands with the deputy governor for his victory at the poll saying its only ZLP that could unseat the APC ruling government.

Speaking in the same vein, one of the party’s chieftain and former House of Representatives candidate, Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, Gbenga Fapohunda said with the support of electorates, ZLP will win the forthcoming gubernatorial poll.

In his response, the deputy governor, Ajayi, appreciated the leadership of ADC for their adoption and promised not to disappoint the confidence the good people of Ondo state have in him.

Ajayi said, “We are prepare for the election, we are not going to war and we have said it severally that 1983 scenario will not repeat itself again in Ondo state, we will resist it. I can assure you that in our party, ZLP is one man, one vote.

“We should allow people to exercise their franchise freely, if I am the most popular candidate they want, they will definitely vote for me and if it is the governor they will vote for him but why are we resulting it to violence?.

“Ondo state people are watching and even Nigeria as a whole and I can assure you that we will resist any attempt to disrupt the democratic sector in our dear state.

“We cannot surrender our mandate to someone that doesn’t have human feelings, we want a good governance in Ondo state and we shall get it come October 10 governorship election.”
