Rainstorm: Gobir Donates N20m Worth Of Building Materials To Victims In Ilorin

The Waziri Hausa and Chairman, Gobir Organisation Foundation, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, has donated relief materials worth 20 Million Naira to victims of Saturday night’s rainstorm in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The presentation of the materials which included hundreds of bundles of roofing sheets, cement blocks, wood planks as well as cash was made to Chairmen of various Community Development Associations within Ilorin metropolis for onward distribution to affected citizens.
Waziri Gobir, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who was represented by Hon. Ibrahim Abubakar, stated that the destruction caused by the rainstorm saddened his heart, saying it is only Allah that can console the affected families.
He urged the committee saddled with the distribution and renovation of the affected houses to expedite action, pointing out that families who are currently displaced due to the incident need to be able to return back to their houses as soon as possible.
Waziri Gobir, who expressed concern over the current living conditions of many families in the country, urged the Federal Government, especially the National Emergency Management Agency, to come speedily to the aid of the people of Kwara State at this trying time.
