International Widows Day: Oyetola’s Wife Donates Food, Cash To Widows, Promises Unflinching Support

Osun State First Lady, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has charged philanthropists on the need to always come to the aid of the less privileged especially widows in the society in order to make life more meaningful for them.

Mrs Oyetola gave the charge in her Office during the presentation of cash and food items as part her contributions to support Osun Widows Association to mark this year international widows day.

Osun first lady said, it is clear that poverty in Nigeria has seriously affected widow with a lot of Widows living below the poverty line and who are also pre-disposed to economic hardship, social marginalization, sexual violence, disease and untimely death.

Mrs Oyetola stressed that, all and Sundry must rise to the challenges facing women especially widows in the State and reserving the undersirable situation which make them vulnerable.

She emphasized that, the president administration in the Osun State under the leadership of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is demonstrating its passion to make women more relevant, productive and formidable partner in development .

Receiving the items on behalf of the association, the president of Osun Widows Association Mrs Odetola Elizabeth expressed her happiness with the surprise gift of love given to them by the wife of the Governor, she and therefore prayed for successful tenure of the present administration in the state of Osun.
