COVID-19: Aisha Buhari Distributes Palliatives, Empowerments Equipments To Women, As Osun First Lady Lauds Gesture

Wife of the President, Dr. Aisha Buhari has provided palliative items to Osun state women in order to help mitigate the effect of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world

The palliative which was distributed through the office of the first lady of the state, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola also doled out empowerment equipments to artisans under Future Assured Programme initiated to help the less privileged during this COVID-19 pandemic.

CityMirrorNews reports that no fewer than 1,500 women benefited from the relief materials while forty hair dryer equipments were given to some selected hair stylists to boost their skills.

Represented by the South West Zonal Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme, Mrs Adeyinka Bamigbose, Mrs Buhari urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the empowerment equipment so as to be self reliant.

Distributing the relief materials, Osun First Lady, Mr Kafayat Oyetola appreciated Mrs Buhari for counting Osun women worthy and for her intervention in the state, saying Osun women would continue to support the APC government both at the federal and state levels.

Mrs Oyetola said the gusture would assist women to cushion the hardship caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

The Osun first lady who had since the outbreak of pandemic embarked on the distribution of palliatives across the nooks and crannies of the state among whom women are beneficiaries said women , who are mostly affected by economic hardship occasioned by the dreaded Coronavirus, would use the food items to feed their children.

According to the first lady, the intervention programme of the Nigerian first lady is not limited to Osun state alone saying it is being done across the country.

“I want to on behalf of Osun women appreciate Nigerian first lady, Dr Aisha Buhari for this intervention. The Nigerian first lady has done very well”, Mrs Oyetola said

She enjoined hair dryer beneficiaries not to sell the equipment, saying they are going to monitor them on how they use the equipment.

She prayed God to continue to elevate Mrs Buhari just as she prayed for quick recovery of COVID-19 patients.

She urged residents to always adhere strictly to precautionary measures put in place by the NCDC

One of the beneficiaries,Mrs Olawumi Alaba appreciated the first lady of Nigeria for her support and also the first lady of Osun state for counting them worthy.

Present at the event are the wife of the deputy Governor, Mrs Oyefunke Alabi, Honorable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Barrister Olubukola Olaboopo, Honorable Commissioner for Human Resources Alhaja Latifat Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce, Cooperative and Industry, Honorable Sola Ogunfolajin, the wife of the SSG Mrs Bosede Oyebamiji, the wife of the Head of Service, Mrs Kikelomo Oyebade, the wife of the APC Chairman, Mrs Olubumi Famodun, the wife of the Special Adviser of Public Health, Mrs. Grace Olamiju ,the wife of the special adviser on Local Government Affairs, Mrs Toye Adeosun among others.
