Hit And Run Driver Kills Woman In Onitsha
A middle-aged woman was,on Tuesday, crushed to death by a hit-and-run driver in Onitsha, Anambra State.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was on top speed and fled after knocking the victim who was rushed to Toronto hospital Onitsha by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) rescue team from Upper Iweka Outpost and deposited at the Morgue after Doctor’s death confirmation.
Ag Kamal Musa, the Education Officer of State Sector of FRSC, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said road obstruction is being cleared to ensure the free flow of traffic.
The State Sector Commander, FRSC, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, while sending his condolences to the deceased family, admonishes pedestrians to always make use of pedestrian bridges where available and observe Traffic drills before crossing the road.
He also warns motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits stipulated by the law in built-up areas.
