Osun Govt To Begin Rehabilitation Of Tertiary Institution Roads

Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has proposed the rehabilitation of campus roads within all the state owned tertiary institutions.

This approval according to the Honourable commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye is in tandem with the prompt responsiveness and aftermath of the #EndSARS engagement, the Governor had with the entire students’ bodies in the state, among which is the deplorable state of road networks within all tertiary institutions.

This project is christened “Osun State Owned Tertiary Institution Road Rehabilitation Projects”

The state ministry of works and transport have been directed by the Governor to commence immediately further engagement with all stakeholders in the tertiary institution to assessment and compilation of road in the different road of urgent attention. A similar exercise was last carried out in Osun state institutions in year 2006.

The project is designed to aid academic excellence within our citadels of learning, create in enabling environment, the vehicular movement and cement a good relationship among the government, students and other players within the academic environment.

According to Omowaiye, our efforts in improving the road infrastructure in the state will our economic frontiers, to all affected institutions, promote patronage for local contractors and business owners.

The beneficiary schools are the Osun State College of Technology, Esa oke, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State College of Education, Ila, Osun State College of Education, Ilesha, Osun State University and by extension Osun State University Teaching Hospital, the release concluded
