COVID-19 Relief: NYSC Donates Sanitizers, Nose Masks, Others To Osun Govt

…Corps Member Donates Cartons of Noodles

The National Youth Service Corps has donated sanitizers, disinfectant hand wash, and nose masks to support the Osun State government to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.

The donation was presented by the State Coordinator, Mr. Ayodele Adegoke alongside other officials of the scheme to the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji.

In his address, the State Coordinator, Mr. Adegoke said, “the production of the support materials which include; disinfectant hand wash, antiseptic hand sanitizers, and nose masks was the initiative of the NYSC Director-General as a way of making corps members in the state and nation at large give back to the society and contribute to the eradication of the pandemic.

“Production which was carried out by corps members as part of their Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), was supervised officials of the scheme at the NYSC State Secretariat.”

Subsequently, A corps member serving with the Federal Government College, Ikirun in Ifelodun local government area of the State, Miss Omolara Kolawole donated 20 cartons of noodles to Osun State government to help to cushion the effects of ‘Stay-at-home’ order.

Kolawole a graduate of Economics from Ekiti State University during her presentation said the donation is to assist the Osun State government in the fight against COVID-19.

According to her, the donation is to contribute in my own little way to the state government in the fight against coronavirus that is ravaging the world.

“The pandemic has rendered many sectors inactive and many people have made the government be solely responsible in the fight. I saw that the fight is a global one and we all have to contribute our own little to contain it. This made me use my March stipends to buy 20 packs of noddle for those who are in need in this time of lockdown.”

The donation was received by the Executive Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, alongside the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi, and other government functionaries.

Receiving the donation, the SSG, Prince Wole Oyebamiji commended the scheme and Kolawole for the gesture towards the state government in fighting COVID-19.

Oyebamiji said “With what you have brought today is a testimony and confirmation that the governor is not alone in this fight against COVID-19, that all strata of the society one way or the other are giving the government full cooperation.

I am delighted to receive this donation on Governor’s behalf and I promise you that the government will make judicious use for the benefit of the masses. He ended.
